The Rowing Foundation – supporting junior rowing since 1980

The Rowing Foundation was established as a registered charity in 1980 with the aim of “getting young people on the water”.  For over 40 years we have been providing grants to clubs and organisations to help get more young people involved in the sport, both juniors and those in full-time education.

In recent years, we have also provided grants to assist clubs with their Adaptive Rowing programmes.  There is no age limit on any of our adaptive grants.

We are one of the projects supported by Henley Royal Regatta Charitable Trust.  This partnership has been ongoing for the last 30 years.

In 2023, we awarded total grants in excess of £70,000 to 32 clubs throughout the United Kingdom.

The Trustees and Officers of the Rowing Foundation are all volunteers drawn from around the country, appointed for their varied knowledge of rowing.

Any of the Trustees or Officers are always willing to discuss potential applications, so please feel free to approach one in your area.  Otherwise use the “Contact Us” form on this website, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible
